Temperature, electron density and in-plane magnetic field dependence of cyclotron relaxation time in the two-dimensional metallic phase
We have performed cyclotron resonance measurements on two-dimensional electrons in the metallic phase. The temperature, electron density and in-plane magnetic field dependence of cyclotron and transport scattering time are reported for a high-mobility Si/SiGe quantum well.

Magnetic-field dependence of the anomalous noise behavior in a two-dimensional electron system in silicon.
Studies of low-frequency resistance noise show that the dramatic change in the dynamics of the two-dimensional electron system (2DES) in Si that occurs near the metal-insulator transition (MIT) persists in high parallel magnetic fields B such that the 2DES is fully spin polarized. This strongly suggests that charge, as opposed to spin, degrees of freedom are responsible for this effect. In the ...
متن کاملRelaxation of quasi-two-dimensional electrons in a quantizing magnetic field probed by time-resolved cyclotron resonance
We have measured the picosecond time-resolved cyclotron resonance of photogenerated transient carriers in undoped InSb/Al0.09In0.91Sb quantum wells by two-color pump-probe spectroscopy in a magnetic field. The strong conduction-band nonparabolicity of InSb causes the average cyclotron mass of the electrons, which we monitor directly in time, to decrease as the electrons relax towards the band e...
متن کاملKorringa relaxation time of magnetic ion system near a two-dimensional electron gas
Spin relaxation of Mn ions in a (Cd,Mn)Te quantum well with quasi-two-dimensional carriers (Q2DEG) is investigated. The mechanism of energy transfer is spin–flip scattering of Mn spin with electrons making transitions between spin subbands accompanied by a change in the Mn spin. A calculation of the spin–flip scattering rate shows that the Mn spin relaxation rate is proportional to the coupling...
